This LiPo charge time calculator estimates how long your FPV drone battery will take to charge from its capacity and charge rate. Should you put it on the charger now, how long will a stack of packs take, charge at 1C or push it faster — LiPo charge time is something every pilot works out daily. This tool gives you the answer in a second, plus the safe charge current to use.
The core formula is:charge time ≈ capacity to refill (Ah) ÷ charge current (A). A 1300mAh (1.3Ah) pack charged from empty at 1C (1.3A) takes about an hour in theory. But LiPo charging has two stages: constant-current (CC) fills quickly to around 90%, then constant-voltage (CV) slowly tops off to full — and that top-off adds roughly 15% more time. The calculator builds that in, so the estimated charge time it shows is closer to reality than the plain theoretical number.
The charge rate C sets the charge current: current (A) = rate × capacity (Ah). 1C is the safe default for almost every LiPo — charge a 1300mAh pack at 1.3A. Many modern FPV LiPos are rated for 2C–5C fast charging, which is fine when you're in a hurry, but it runs hotter and shortens cycle life. When unsure, charge at 1C for a cooler, longer-lasting pack. Either way, never exceed the charge rating printed on the battery.

Charge time depends on how much is left in the pack. A LiPo lands with around 20% left, while a storage charge sits near 50%, so topping up from storage is much faster than from empty. Set the "current charge level" in the calculator to match your pack for an accurate result. One reminder: only charge to full (4.2V per cell) when you're about to fly; if the pack will sit for more than a day or two, bring it to storage voltage (about 3.8V per cell) — sitting full ages a LiPo fast.
